Applying for Executive MBA Programs in India

Many people choose to pursue an MBA degree after only a couple of years in the workplace. Typically, they would drop out of the work force and study full time in school for two or more years. After having graduated with the MBA, they will proceed back to the workplace. Those who have been in the workforce for ten years or more may find it very difficult to leave in order to earn an MBA degree. Fortunately, there are executive MBA degrees available that allow students to remain at full time work while earning their degree. This is a great option for those who want to get executive management education while staying at work.

One of the things that those who are looking at executive MBA programs will want to look at are the minimum requirements in order to attend. In most cases, it is necessary to attain the necessary minimum marks in the bachelor’s degree program. The marks will vary from school to school as well as from one bachelor’s degree program to another. For example, the fms executive mba will require 45% in the aggregate. These marks are typically lower than those of the regular MBA programs, which often require minimum marks of 50% to 60% depending on the field.

The next thing to do is to look at the various schools that have an executive MBA program and to see which one has the right type of concentration of interest. THere are many programs to look at such as the Welingkar executive MBA, VCU executive mba, executive mba from FMS, and the Sikkim Manipal university executive mba. They will all have their own minimum marks requirements as well as different areas of emphasis.

Keep in mind that the marks mentioned are the minimum requirements in order to gain admission. It is not necessarily enough to gain admission. The admissions committee will be looking at many different factors including where the applicant’s industry is (some areas may be underrepresented in the class), previous marks while studying for the bachelor’s degree, management potential, and job experience. Those who already old upper management jobs will probably have a better chance of admissions. Because of this difficulty of admissions, it’s a good idea to apply to several schools or even more to ensure that there will probably be an admission to at least one school.
